Why Cotton Is The Most Popular Fabric to Make Garments?

Cotton is the most produced natural fabric on the entire planet. It is valued for its comfort and durability, which makes it one of the most popular materials (ENG) used in the manufacture of clothing. Cotton is a silky natural plant material that surrounds the seeds of cotton and is used as a textile material. The quality of the cotton lies partly in the length of its fibers, which ensures more excellent durability of the finished product. Thus, the longer the cotton fibers, the more durable the garment is.

How do we go from cotton fields to clothing in stores?

Cotton can be harvested manually or mechanically, depending on the country and the producer. After being left in the sun for a few days, the cotton is ginned. This technique separates the fibers from the seeds and eliminates debris. The cotton is then stored in bales to be sent to spinning factories. There, we transform the cotton fiber into yarn. In many cases, the spinning process is not done in the country where the cotton was grown. Becoming thread, the cotton is then sent to weaving factories: the cotton threads are assembled to form a fabric. Spinning and weaving mills may be concentrated in one place.

Print Quality

Cotton is a perfect surface to impinge on DTG. So if you want an opaque and clear design, choose a 100% cotton garment. Hand block printed cotton fabric can be used for women clothing.

Touch And Appearance

Cotton does not stick to the skin. So if you do not want to sell tight clothes, but prefer a loose look, choose cotton. But, yes, keep in mind that 100% cotton clothes take time to dry, so they are not suitable for sportswear.

Durability And Care

High-quality cotton has a long durability, which makes it less prone to breakage or accidental tears. Just like the rest of natural materials, it can shrink when exposed to high temperatures. So to wash a cotton garment, cold water should be used and avoid using a lot of detergents (ENG) since it can affect the durability of the material. Use the delicate programs in your washing machine to prevent garments from losing color and becoming washed out.
